Anyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God.

The St. Peter's St Vincent de Paul group are working together with the Salvation Army to provide hot soup and some sandwiches to the homeless on Wednesday nights from 6.30 - 7.30pm. We are looking after one evening per month. If you would like to help please phone Maureen at the office on (01224) 626 359, or send her an e-mail using the "Contact Us" page.

Visiting the Sick & Housebound

Our Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) makes regular visits to those who are sick or housebound, ensuring that they do not feel forgotten. Alongside this our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion take communion to members of the congregation who are, due to illhealth, unable to make it to Mass.

Knowing & Defending Your

Catholic Faith

(Apologetics)

Responding To Dawkins

For those of you who have read Dawkins' book, "The God Delusion", you may want to have a look at one of these books to recover your perspective (Dawkins is exptreamly anti-catholic and his arguments don't actually hold much water when held up to scrutiny).

  • "The Dawkins Delusion" - Alister McGrath (goes for the jugular).
  • "Deluded by Dawkins" - Andrew Wilson (goes for the jugular).
  • "Is God a Delusion" - Nicky Gumbel (typically firm but fair!).
  • "The Language of God" - Francis Collins (deals with the broader issues of the debate with only well-aimed swipes at Dawkins).
  • The recent BBC2 programme "Did Darwin Kill God?" (he didn't by the way!) Tue 31 Mar 2009 7pm was presented by Conor Cunningham was brilliant but has a go at fundamentalists on both sides of the debate.

I hope you find this helpful.
